2023 Q1 Updates from the ADLD Center

We’re thrilled to share some recent milestones and exciting plans as we forge ahead in our quest for treatments and, ultimately, a cure for ADLD.

  • We’re investigating 6, promising, FDA-approved drugs that could potentially be repurposed to benefit ADLD patients.

  • Our team has launched an ambitious project to develop a novel treatment for ADLD. It is currently being tested in animals for safety. We hope it will achieve the next major milestone in its path to clinical approval this Fall.

  • Using the grants we awarded, ADLD researchers are achieving significant advancements that are key to supporting our efforts towards the development of ADLD treatments and ways to objectively measure if a treatment is working.

  • ADLD-expert physicians have developed clinical guidelines to help all physicians better assess and treat ADLD patients. These guidelines are under review by the journal in which they will soon be published.

  • We are gearing up to initiate a Natural History Study, which is incredibly important for us as we prepare for a treatment and/or cure for ADLD in the future. It will enable us to better understand progression of the disease across all patients and potentially eliminate the need for us to have a placebo group during a trial of a new treatment and/or cure.

All of these updates reflect groundbreaking work. Thanks to your help and commitment, we are charting the path forward.

There is so much more to share. Our website will soon be updated with more details on these potential new drugs and treatments for ADLD.

The roadmap for the upcoming year is ambitious, reflecting our commitment to you and the wider ADLD community.

While we are very thankful for the $120,000 we raised last year, we are $200,000 short of our goal to launch a Natural History study this Spring.
