Join the Giving Tuesday Movement – Support ADLD Patients by Donating

The latest from the ADLD Center and launching our first GivingTuesday campaign!

Donate to our cause today

Your support and engagement have resulted in progress on several fronts in the short time since the launch of the ADLD Center. There is much to accomplish yet. As a non-profit organization, we rely on our community to amplify our message and mission. We are grateful for your continued support. Please take a few moments to review some highlights from this year:

In the last year, we have funded a key research initiative with a gift of $25,000 to support our partner Dr. Quasar Padiath’s crucial ADLD research in the Department of Human Genetics at the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh.

We are also investing in research through a partnership with a non-profit organization, the Orphan Disease Center at the University of Pennsylvania. The Request for applications has launched and we will award two $50,000 grants to the suitable research team(s).

ADLD Center has presented at the first-ever ADLD Scientific Conference and attended the 2022 Global Leukodystrophy Initiative (GLIA) working meeting held in Philadelphia to encourage collaboration between patient advocacy groups, researchers, and pharmaceutical industry stakeholders to determine readiness for clinical trials and path to treatment. We also met with leading researchers from various countries including Italy and the Netherlands and learned about the latest ADLD research.

We also continued creating awareness by leading well-attended webinars with a number of scientists and patients alike

There are several other initiatives where your funds will have a continued impact. From exploring a new therapeutic path for treating ADLD in collaboration with the n-Lorem Foundation to establishing an ADLD Center of Excellence at an Academic Medical Center, building a Research Consortium for tracking and funding ADLD research to serving patients through community events and advancement of the ADLD Research Hub.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on funds from generous individuals to achieve our ambitious objectives. For the first time, the ADLD Center is participating in GivingTuesday. We’re humbly asking for your support. We have a goal of raising $150,000 by the end of the year. We also only have until the end of the year to leverage a generous matching fund of $250,000. Help us reach our goals and continue our progress.
